Scrape up residue.

  1. Apply a damp white towel to the affected area, and weight down with a flat, heavy object and remove the next day and vacuum to restore carpet pile. Scrape up unabsorbed residue.
  2. Blot with a solution of 1-teaspoon maximum of liquid hand dishwashing detergent per cup of lukewarm water.
  3. Blot with a solution of 1 cup of white vinegar per 2 cups of water.
  4. Blot with lukewarm water with a white towel.
  5. Blot dry with a dry white absorbent towel.
